CajonTab demo by Kalani Das

When we first met Kalani Das at the American Music Therapy Association's national convention in Sandusky, Ohio in November 2016, he was in a rush to borrow a shaker for a presentation he was giving. We were more than happy to oblige. Although I didn't know who he was at first, Janelle told us he was a pretty big deal in the world of percussion and music therapy. She tends to know what she's talking about.A few months based, and we reached out to Kalani. Our offer was pretty simple: check out our CajonTab on the house and tell us what you think. We're constantly looking for feedback from professionals to improve our drums and his opinion is important to us.Kalani...

Standard CajonTab vs Jumbo CajonTab

Our two most popular drums are the Standard CajonTab and the Jumbo CajonTab. Near the end of the clip, you can hear how alternating between the two drums can create some interesting rhythms. We recommend trying the Jumbo on your strong hand side as your "bass" drum and the Standard on your weak hand side as your "snare".  Here's the video: Both drums are available now in our online store.

Using the CajonTab in a professional setting

As we continue introducing the CajonTab to the broad market of percussionists, we have learned more and more about the lives of music professionals and how often their routines are dictated by moving their equipment. "Schlepping" is a word we hear a lot. Our small wooden drums can really come in handy, especially when carrying half a dozen drums or more.Often drum circle organizers have to haul dozens of odd-shaped djembes or similar drums. These drums are terrific, but sometimes convenience matters. Our square design and low volume (less than 0.25 cubic feet) allow our drums to easily pack into a carry case. You can carry six drums (or more!) over your shoulder with a carry case.In fact, we recommend wearing...
