Purple copper patina intermediate handpan d minor 9 note

Regular price $1,699.00 Sale

This is a 9 note (d-minor) intermediate handpan in a purple copper patina.

Handpans are unique and amazing instruments.  To create one, the maker must hammer the instrument into tune in a painstaking process that involves several trips into a furnace between tunings.

As the handpan is hammered and baked in the furnace, the metal becomes more and more conditioned.  The difference between an intermediate/expert handpan and beginner’s handpan is how much the instrument was tuned, baker in the furnace, and tuned again.

As an extensively hand worked instrument, each handpan is likely to have a few distinctive markings from the hammer blows.  These are a perfectly normal part of the instrument and are a testament to the labor involved in their creation.

The video below demonstrates the difference between a beginner handpan and this intermediate handpan.
